WEB 2.0 tool

By John Alessandra

The world we live in is forever changing in a variety of ways. This includes technology and specifically the internet. Going back to when the web was created, to the present day, there are extreme changes. We call this current web, WEB 2.0, which really means the more advanced, next generation web, or also may say  the future of the internet. One WEB 2.0 tool that caught my eye was Site hoover. Site hoover is a very useful tool, which is also easy to use. The main reason I selected this tool is my memories of being in a general education classroom during my elementary school days. I remember that annoying process of having to type in a long URL perfectly to reach a website. Most of the time, my first and second try would never work. Eventually, I would have to raise my hand and ask my teacher to type it in. Site hoover eliminates all of those problems in a simple right click of your mouse. This website has a short, easy to type URL that can lead you to numerous of websites without having to type each URL! This saves time for both the student and teacher which maximizes learning! Not only will this tool help you as a teacher, but will also help all your students with and without disabilities. When creating a hands on, interactive lesson, which includes the use of computers and websites, site hoover will be the perfect fit! As the teacher , you can create your own site hoover (click link and URL will appear) that has all the websites needed to complete the activity. This can be extremely beneficial to students with a learning disability. This tool will help students with a learning disability focus their energy on completing the objective/task of assignment versus typing in the correct URL. Also it may help students with physical impairments that might not be able to manipulate the individual keyboard keys, but can click and operate the mouse. There are also many other ways you can use this awesome tool! Here is an example of my site hoover for social media and my athletics ,my site hoover!(click link and URL will appear) Thanks for reading!
